Family Found Hope: When Support Means Survival

In a quiet rural village on the outskirts of the city, Fareena sat on the doorstep of her modest home, cradling her newborn while her two older children played with empty coconut shells. Her husband had lost his job during the economic downturn, and with no steady income, feeding her family had become a daily struggle.

There were nights she went to bed hungry just so her children could eat. Medical expenses for her youngest, who had been born prematurely, were mounting. Hope was fading fast.

“I kept telling myself, ‘just one more day… one more day,’” Fareena said with tired eyes.

Fareena was referred to our Family Support & Empowerment Program by a local teacher who noticed her son was often absent from school.

Within days, our team stepped in. We delivered monthly food and hygiene packs, provided nutritional supplements for her baby, and offered parenting workshops designed to strengthen emotional well-being during times of crisis.

But we didn’t stop there.

Fareena was enrolled in our Micro-Enterprise Skills Program and given seed funding to start a small spice-mixing business from home. Her unique blends of curry powder and dried chili soon gained popularity in her village.

“People used to pity me. Now they come to buy from me,” she smiles proudly.

With the added income, Fareena was able to get her eldest child back in school—and this time, with proper shoes and books.

“Before, I felt helpless. Now, I feel strong. You didn’t just give me things—you gave me back my role as a mother.”

Every day, countless women silently struggle to hold their families together. Your donation helps provide immediate relief—and long-term empowerment.
